Weekly Edit: Coastal Favs
Sharing what caught my eye this week and it spans from home to fashion as well as some Marie & Oakley jewelry & paintings.
This chandelier is stunning and was pleasantly surprised it is by a designer, Louise Gaskill, just down the road in Raleigh, North Carolina. Looking for another coastal option, this chandelier still has my heart.
Did you see that Society Social went to Round Top? I’m obsessed with their set up as well as their new collection featuring my favorite hues of blue and green. I have my eye on a couple of items for our home, such as this minty green console.
I finally spent my birthday gift cards and treated myself to a couple of things from Anthropologie. This mushroom lamp is actually a candle and I want all the colors and sizes now. Plus I picked up this cookbook.
In case you didn’t know, I have been designing jewelry for a couple of decades now. Yes, I know! I’m old. But I am so grateful that my hands and eyes are still allowing me to create things I love. Go check out these lovely aquamarine lovelies!
This Oysters on the Half Shell is one of my first paintings and is one of my best selling prints. I am so humbled that some of you would want to hang one of my paintings in your home.I am a self taught artist and definitely have much to learn but am diving into painting by keeping a daily art journal.
Swooning over these rattan and wicker pieces from Society Social and again have my eye on a couple of pieces. Plus, I love they are just down the road in Hickory, North Carolina. I am on a mission to support local or small businesses, especially if they are in North Carolina.
Aren’t these whimsical ocean-inspired plates the cutest? Tablescaping is one of my favorite things to do but I don’t necessarily have the room or the funds to purchase all the dinnerware collections I love. So my trick is to purchase salad plates or bowls that will intermingle with my cream or white dinnerware collections. It’s a great trick and allows me to mix and match, as needed.
I have shared this little fish rug before but had to share again. I am eyeing this rug for our dining room and may make the commitment soon. Stay tuned!
Friday Favs: Summer Mood
Summer is on my mind and I am dreaming of sunny skies and turquoise oceans. I definitely need some time in my happy place! In the meantime, I am sharing what caught my eye this week. Big news this week, I am feeling brave and adding my original artwork for sale. A couple of weeks ago, I took a leap of faith and featured my artwork alongside my jewelry. And much to my surprise I sold my paintings than jewelry.

Friday Favs: Retro Surf Vibes
I stumbled (or scrolled) upon a new-to-me brand that I absolutely fell in love with. Meet Begg x Co that creates the most luxurious cashmere on the Scottish coastline. I am obsessed with the retro cashmere polo with the surfer strips & hibiscus. There’s a retro and yet modernity to the styles showcased below. And how about the “Happy Place” surfboard by Kerri Rosenthal.
I know it’s almost summer here in North Carolina but could not pass up the opportunity to share these beautiful cashmere sweaters with you.
Who can resist this Surfer Cardigan by Begg x Co?
The ocean is definitely my Happy Place. So this Happy Place Surfboard is so a propos.
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect summer bag and this Tory Burch Mini Ella Bio Tote in Skylight Blue might just be the one.
This Watercolor Shell Gift Set in an abalone shell is adorable. What a great gift for a coastal-loving artist!
Summer Isles Cardigan by Begg x Co with the blue and turquoise hibiscus flowers is definitely on my wish list.
I have been crushing on the Office Of Angela Scott for a while now. Seems like the perfect time to introduce you! Shown is the Remi Sneaker but this pair, the Elliot Sneaker in clover, would be so cute, too.
This men’s Rip Tide Polo is my all-time favorite and reminds of my teenage years of sitting on the sand watching the surfers catch a wave. Always the spectator watching from afar.
Some of my paintings that I am considering brining to a life as a collection.
I love the blues & greens in these Marie & Oakley Necklaces and believe they would be the perfect complement for these beautiful Begg x Co sweaters.
Friday Favs: Midnight Blue Cottage Core
I am excited to share some of my favorite finds this week. If you have been following Marie & Oakley on Instagram for awhile you may recognize a couple of things from our home. I’m coining this look Midnight Blue Cottage Core. Make yourself comfortable, take a look around and join the conversation below by leaving a comment.
My all-time favorite photographer from down under has the most beautiful coastal prints and originals but this Tasman Seabird 1960 caught my eye recently.
Have you discovered Get the Gusto? Instagram’s algorithm got it right when this Gusto Canasta Club Blue Stripe Chair appeared in my feed.
I have been on the hunt for the perfect chandelier for our dining room and this might just be it.
This seagrass loveseat from GreenRow would be perfect in an entryway or even a small breakfast nook.
My ever-growing collection of Seashell Bottles by Soul and Sea Studio always draw attention.
This Menlo Cabinet from Pottery Barn doubles as storage for my dinnerware collection, seashells and art supplies. I was terrified the glass would break when we moved from Winston-Salem to Durham but our movers were amazing!
This Tulipa Floral Wallpaper has been around for a couple of years now but I have to tire of it.
Get the Gusto got me again with this adorable bench.
These Blue & White Dinner Plates from ZaraHome are the perfect addition for those coastal-loving entertainers.
I have similar bottles in green glass but these Blue Bottles from Terrain are perfect in a navy and white beach cottage.
And don’t forget to add seashells!
