Friday Favs: Feeling Salty
Feeling a little salty but not necessarily for the reasons you may think. Last week my husband started feeling poorly and on Friday tested positive for Covid. He’s find and recovering well but I succumbed to the virus earlier this week. It’s been a week of disappointments as we had to skip a weekend out of town that we had been looking forward to since September. My husband’s dream has been to see George Strait in concert before he retires so we were thrilled that Charlotte was one of his stops a very limited 2024 tour. Unfortunately he wasn’t well enough to go but we were blessed enough to sell the tickets and get a full refund.
I had to cancel some important meetings and put off some fun social events as well. And needless to say between caring for him and then getting sick, I haven’t had much time to create. But I have had quite.a bit of screen time so I did pull together some favs to kick off the summer. Leaning into blue and a coral-red to try to chase away my blues!
Cheers to the weekend, summer and hopefully good health! Thanks for taking a look around and drop a comment below and let me know what you think. Hopefully I will be feeling better next week as I have some new projects on the horizon.

Get the Gusto got me again with this adorable bench.
These Blue & White Dinner Plates from ZaraHome are the perfect addition for those coastal-loving entertainers.

Friday Favs: Hello March
The weather has been all over the place this past week but next week should be a nice debut for Spring. Can’t wait! Until then, I am sharing what caught my eye this past week. I extended my no-spend January into February as we navigate some changes in our household but that does not keep me from window shopping. A little warning, I have very expensive taste and I found some beautiful things but they are a little pricey. I do have some ideas for decor and art that might not cost a fortune. Have fun browsing and let me know what you think in the commets.
These hand painted plates keep popping up in my Instagram feed. I love the green and cream but they do come in other colors. A little on the pricey side, but I think definitely worth the investment.
Looking for an inexpensive way to bring Spring indoors. Place your favorite bulbs in an old wooden crate. I purchased these at my favorite Farmer’s Market in Hillsborough, NC. But now I can update for each season!
The English Roll Arm Sofa is my all-time favorite! My first sofa ever was this style and I still have it. My oldest niece has dibs on it! This one from One Kings Lane comes in beautiful velvets and I have my eye on a color. It’s Seafoam, of course.
This is a photo I took last Spring on a visit to one of my favorite garden stores. DIY tip, take photos of things you love and then hang as art. Not completely free, but not as expensive as an original painting.
I call this necklace, Green Seas, and it is now available at Marie & Oakley. Handmade one-of-a-kind necklace featuring a chrysoprase pendant, moonstone and peridot wrapped in 14K gold plated wire.
Fell in love with a new tile company and discovered these tiles but unfortunately they are now of stock. Why does that always happen to me?
How beautiful are these candlesticks? 1970s Vintage Ceramic Parrot Candleholders With Bronze Ormolu Details for the pair. A bargain, right?
How adorable is this bench by MadCap Cottage? I love that they are based in High Point, North Carolina. If you aren’t all ready following this duo on Instagram, you are missing out!
Have I mentioned how much I adore deVol Kitchens and everything they do. All of the heirloom platters are so beautiful and I have been eyeing a couple of pieces. Especially this Sea Green platter!
This necklace is one of my all-time M&O Favs and you can find it here! There’s more to see at Marie & Oakley.
Like what you see here? Don’t forget to check out last week’s blog post where I shared some of my favorite picks for summer.

Friday Favs: Too Soon for Summer?
I know, I know! It’s too soon for summer but I could not resist sharing what caught my eye this week. Apparently I am dreaming of my favorite place, the sea, and entertaining in coastal style.
Lucie de Moyencourt Platter would be ideal for a summer evening entertaining by coast.
Small Lion's Paw Vide Poche Shell and Large Lion's Paw Vide Poche Shell are works of art and would be a great catchall.
Excited to see Pottery Barn now has this White Assorted Shell Garland. My husband gifted me the original and were surprised to see how orange it was. We may need to give this another try!
Figural Shell Champagne Bucket makes me want to host a champagne or prosecco tasting
This Wallpaper was so loved, it’s no longer available. Oops!
Love the Floral Stoneware from ZaraHome and reminds me of enjoying an intimate dinner in a secluded beach cottage
I fell in love Costa Nova dinnerware several years ago and I have been building my collection slowly. These Brisa Oval Dinner Plates are my favorite as they remind me of the ocean. Plus, they are definitely a conversation starter!
Haddan Slipcover Dining Bench from Lulu and Georgia is striking and would look perfect in our breakfast nook.
This Segundo Mother Of Pearl Chandelier is stunning! Don’t be surprised if you see this hanging in our dining room sometime soon.
Inira Handwoven Wool Rug from Pottery Barn is a great addition to any coastal inspired room.
Can I make a confession? I don’t love our builder-grade kitchen pendants and I have been eyeing these Nanina Pendant as a replacement.
Marie & Oakley styling. Did you know I dabble in interior styling? Feel free to drop a comment or email at hello@marieandoakley.com for details.
Such a cute Rattan Pineapple Crossbody Bag and would be so perfect for a summer date.
Loved this Clamshell so much, I featured it twice!
I have been following Saltwater Collection on Instagram for a while now and when she launched her Saltwater Collection coffee table book, I knew I had to have it. It reminds me of my childhood summer vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. My husband not only surprised with the book but also a chance to meet the photographer, Faith Teasley, at a book signing in Raleigh.
Masuma Accent Chair at Lulu and Georgia caught my eye several weeks ago. I have no idea how comfortable it would be but it looks super cool.
A Seashell Desk Lamp? How cute would this be in my home office?
How lovely is this Onyx Marble and Brass Coffee Table? And the Wicker Shelf is so unexpected. This would look perfect in our living room but I would have to convince my husband we need to make this ours.
This Marie and Oakley necklace sold out but I have plans to bring it back. In the meantime, check out the new Spring Collection now.
How is it I make jewelry and don’t have these Glass Beads in my home?
I adore the softness and colors of this Finn Hand-Knotted Wool Rug from Pottery Barn. It mirrors my daily uniform of a well-loved pair of jeans and ivory colored sweater. Plus, it is currently on sale!
