Weekly Edit: Weekend Getaway
Happy Sunday, coastal friends! I hope your weekend was as lovely as a sea breeze and that you're soaking up every bit of your Sunday Funday. My husband and I stole away to the coast for a quick trip on Friday and Saturday. It got me thinking about packing smart and efficiently for these spontaneous getaways.
My first rule is to pack items that coordinate well, making it easy to grab just one or two pairs of shoes and minimal jewelry. If you've been following me for a while, you know my heart belongs by the sea. Naturally, my go-to pieces are inspired by coastal hues: white tees, blue and white stripes, and denim or chambray.

Friday Favs: Feeling Salty
Feeling a little salty but not necessarily for the reasons you may think. Last week my husband started feeling poorly and on Friday tested positive for Covid. He’s find and recovering well but I succumbed to the virus earlier this week. It’s been a week of disappointments as we had to skip a weekend out of town that we had been looking forward to since September. My husband’s dream has been to see George Strait in concert before he retires so we were thrilled that Charlotte was one of his stops a very limited 2024 tour. Unfortunately he wasn’t well enough to go but we were blessed enough to sell the tickets and get a full refund.
I had to cancel some important meetings and put off some fun social events as well. And needless to say between caring for him and then getting sick, I haven’t had much time to create. But I have had quite.a bit of screen time so I did pull together some favs to kick off the summer. Leaning into blue and a coral-red to try to chase away my blues!
Cheers to the weekend, summer and hopefully good health! Thanks for taking a look around and drop a comment below and let me know what you think. Hopefully I will be feeling better next week as I have some new projects on the horizon.
Friday Favs: Green With Envy
The Butterfly Sandals from Anthropologie caught my eye and inspired this week’s Friday Favs. It’s a bit of a departure from my love of turquoise but still found a tee with a touch of my favorite color. Hope you will find something you like.
Friday Favs: Summer Mood
Summer is on my mind and I am dreaming of sunny skies and turquoise oceans. I definitely need some time in my happy place! In the meantime, I am sharing what caught my eye this week. Big news this week, I am feeling brave and adding my original artwork for sale. A couple of weeks ago, I took a leap of faith and featured my artwork alongside my jewelry. And much to my surprise I sold my paintings than jewelry.

Friday Favs: Hello March
The weather has been all over the place this past week but next week should be a nice debut for Spring. Can’t wait! Until then, I am sharing what caught my eye this past week. I extended my no-spend January into February as we navigate some changes in our household but that does not keep me from window shopping. A little warning, I have very expensive taste and I found some beautiful things but they are a little pricey. I do have some ideas for decor and art that might not cost a fortune. Have fun browsing and let me know what you think in the commets.
These hand painted plates keep popping up in my Instagram feed. I love the green and cream but they do come in other colors. A little on the pricey side, but I think definitely worth the investment.
Looking for an inexpensive way to bring Spring indoors. Place your favorite bulbs in an old wooden crate. I purchased these at my favorite Farmer’s Market in Hillsborough, NC. But now I can update for each season!
The English Roll Arm Sofa is my all-time favorite! My first sofa ever was this style and I still have it. My oldest niece has dibs on it! This one from One Kings Lane comes in beautiful velvets and I have my eye on a color. It’s Seafoam, of course.
This is a photo I took last Spring on a visit to one of my favorite garden stores. DIY tip, take photos of things you love and then hang as art. Not completely free, but not as expensive as an original painting.
I call this necklace, Green Seas, and it is now available at Marie & Oakley. Handmade one-of-a-kind necklace featuring a chrysoprase pendant, moonstone and peridot wrapped in 14K gold plated wire.
Fell in love with a new tile company and discovered these tiles but unfortunately they are now of stock. Why does that always happen to me?
How beautiful are these candlesticks? 1970s Vintage Ceramic Parrot Candleholders With Bronze Ormolu Details for the pair. A bargain, right?
How adorable is this bench by MadCap Cottage? I love that they are based in High Point, North Carolina. If you aren’t all ready following this duo on Instagram, you are missing out!
Have I mentioned how much I adore deVol Kitchens and everything they do. All of the heirloom platters are so beautiful and I have been eyeing a couple of pieces. Especially this Sea Green platter!
This necklace is one of my all-time M&O Favs and you can find it here! There’s more to see at Marie & Oakley.
Like what you see here? Don’t forget to check out last week’s blog post where I shared some of my favorite picks for summer.
