I got my love for jewelry and coastal style from my momma.

Ironically, she didn’t love sitting in the sand or swimming in the water.
But she loved the coast. The air, the light, the feeling of being near it all.
And somehow, that was enough.
Her favorite stones were aquamarine and topaz —
soft blues that felt like little pieces of the sea.

And I always think she would have loved London blue topaz —
that deep, moody blue that reminds me of the color of her eyes.

Long before it was ever a trend, she epitomized coastal grandmother style.
Her home, her jewelry, the way she lived… it all felt effortless, layered, and quietly beautiful.
She taught me how to make lamps out of everyday objects.
That you can make curtains from sheets and tablecloths.
That gallery walls were a beautiful way to display art and coastal finds — especially when you couldn’t afford the big pieces.

She gifted me her favorite shell — my prized abalone.
She loved markets.
Antique shops.
Shopping in general.
She was always treasure hunting.
I think that’s where this all started — the idea that the best pieces feel like something you discovered, not just bought.
She was scrappy.
A single mom of three who always made sure we had the current trends…
my first pair of Vans, a hot pink neon bikini, my favorite Ralph Lauren sweater.
And she gave me my first pieces of coastal jewelry —
a seahorse charm,
a sand dollar dipped in gold,
and a silver charm bracelet I wore everywhere.
This Mother’s Day, I hope you find something that feels just as meaningful — a small treasure she’ll carry with her every day.
She showed me that style isn’t about having everything.
It’s about knowing how to see beauty in anything.
About creating something meaningful from what you have.
And believing in something before it’s fully formed.
And that’s something I carry with me —
in life, and in every piece I make.
Much love from the coast,
Tracy Marie
